About Osteoapthy

Osteopathy is a popular treatment for short and long term relief of pain and dysfunction that focuses on the whole person, not just the symptom. If you are suffering from long standing (chronic) or short term (acute) problems then consider Osteopathy as an effective treatment.
Treatment involve manual techniques – easing pain, reducing swelling and improving mobility.

Osteopathy is very effective as it is a way of detecting damaged or "unbalanced" parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints. When the body is balanced and efficient, just like a well tuned engine, it will function with the minimum of wear and tear, leaving more energy for living. Osteopaths use many of the diagnostic procedures involved in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis. Osteopathy’s main strength lies in the unique way the patient is assessed holistically from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint.

Jason Le Roy
BSc (Hons) Ost.

I have worked as an Osteopath since graduating from the European School of Osteopathy in the UK in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree. I spent 6 years in the UK working in a clinic that treated a lot of acute patients especially disc injuries; then in 2006 I emigrated to Tasmania. I initially worked at Connections Health in Hobart, then in December 2014 I set out on my own working within Equalise in Bathurst Street, Hobart. I like to treat all ages, and I use a wide variety of treatment approaches from structural to indirect techniques dependent on the patient and/or presenting problem.

I am fully registered with the Osteopathy Board of Australia and the Australian Osteopathic Association. As such, I am required to undergo regular continuing professional development training and maintain a First Aid certificate. This ensures that your treatments are above all safe and effective.
